Meet our Chef
Chef Nick Burgess returned to Kennebunkport in July 2017 to become the Executive Chef of Stripers Waterside Restaurant. With a passion for sourcing the freshest local ingredients, Chef Burgess brings an exciting new approach to the New American Cuisine and regional seafood for which the waterfront restaurant is known.
Originally from Kennebunk, Maine, Burgess served in the United States Army before graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1992. After earning a Culinary Apprenticeship at the famed Greenbrier in West Virginia, Burgess perfected his style at upscale Maryland restaurants and resorts including Masons Restaurant and The Kent Island Manor Inn, where he developed a love for the Mid-Atlantic coastline and seafood.
Chef Burgess is looking forward to sharing his wisdom with passionate students in the culinary arts who are aspiring to become chefs. Stripers Waterside Restaurant at The Breakwater Inn is delighted to welcome Chef Burgess back to Maine.
